I firmly believe people come into our lives when we need them most-even if they end up being destructive-and leave when the job’s done. It’s also hard to maintain friendships as adults with so many distractions. I count my blessings for every friend I make-and doubly so for the ride and die folks who make my life rich and full. I love my writer friends so much. So many I’ve never met in person but it’s like we’ve been friends all our lives.

It can be as simple as that to dream big. But it's quite hard to turn the obstacles down life was building up for you or that you created by yourself. Sometimes this process can take a whole life.

That's true, life comes with many obstacles. Still, we can dream. I dream of equality and a world that lives in peace... among many other things. 🤗🩷

Beautiful photo and excellent advice, Olivia. As I read this, I instantly thought, "I still need to get out for a walk." I can coach clients on how to allow themselves to enjoy that treat (and pay attention to their inner child who's desperately yearning for attention). And then I put off treating myself. I see a long walk coming this weekend.

I replied on my iPad, so I thought. It’s interesting how we often take much more care of others than ourselves. I’m guilty of it too. I hope you went for a nice long walk. 🤗🩷

Thank you, Sandy. Isn't it strange how we can give excellent advice to others, but we don't do the same for ourselves? I hope you'll find the time for a long walk. I'll do the same and go tomorrow morning for my Sunday 5-mile walk (not run 🤣). 🩷

Yes! I can rarely manage a whole day, but every single morning I take time out for myself and go for a walk. It is usually before anyone else in the house is up - pre dawn throughout the winter months, just after right now. I usually walk around 3 miles in the green and canalside areas near my house and use it to be utterly selfish - just be in nature, soak up the green and the birdsong and let my mind wander where it needs to. It helps me work things through and declutter my brain. And it also helps me write - I usually keep the thoughts in my head until I got home but at times I dictate as I walk. Some of the dog walkers out at that time are quite perplexed because I am walking without a dog, but I don't need a dog to make me go out for a walk. Having to follow the whims of a dog (which is what they are all doing), is the opposite of what I want and need at that time.

Catherine, it sounds like a perfect way to begin a new day. Walking, especially in nature, is so important for our mind and body. 🥰

In college, I spent a summer in Barcelona, Spain. It was the first time I’d left the country. The experience has never left me. I’d love to go back to Europe at some point: London, or Vienna or Rome. Seeing your pictures of the places you’ve been makes me envious.
