I don’t often stay in that celebratory moment of the journey. I’m so focused on getting to the end - of a project, a piece of writing, a day - that I find myself missing entire chunks of my life. Thank you for opening my eyes to this.

It's not easy to stay in the moment. I'm trying... 🩵

The daily journey of putting words on paper, the sense of accomplishment, indeed surpasses the 'hurrah moment.' It's a sentiment many writers can relate to—the joy in the process, the anticipation of the next project.

I’m getting excited for 2024, where I’m committed to doing creation before consumption, so writing will absolutely be the priority.

I also love the journey. I’m glad you had a good week. Happy Thanksgiving!

Same here. 2024 will be my year of writing, and far less traveling (One more trip this year, back to NY next week). I hope you're having a fabulous time in Italy. 😊😊

I like to think that I write because I can moreso than one day my writing will be a novel, play etc etc. Maybe I am still too young in the tooth at nearly 67 to still have that 'hurrah moment', (I like that term)just by virtue of rolling written sentences around in my mouth like a loved spoonful of delight......as opposed to the finished project. The words just being down there in black n white to re taste is enough. It's a bit like someone once told about a trad folk dance band being asked......why do you play so fast? Because we can came back the answer. Down at its very core of joy (as oft pain) is this spoonful........I write because I can. And I love that very simple thing.

Thanks for all you good words about writing...........400 miles past Sedona. What a ride.
